Remember when we used to band together to get things done? My grandparents did. They told me about true sacrifice and perseverance. America and it’s allies standing together, despite differences of culture, language and base ideologies. It wasn’t perfect, it never is, but everyone knew something had to be done - so they did it.
I’m seeing way too many passive/aggressive posts stating, “it’s okay if we disagree about the vaccine.”
No, it’s not.
It’s not an ideology to be debated: It’s a virus.
It’s time to step up to the plate and take one for humanity. There are too many people listening to people far in the minority, who happen to be prolific users of social media. As I’ve stated before, had these avenues of communication existed in the 30s and 40s, the war would have ended very differently: Only half of us willing to sacrifice, and the other half listening to alternative rhetoric via misleading memes. Thankfully, when the manure hit the rotating blades, people stepped up.
So, in the “we need to step up like our forefathers did” vein, here’s a couple historical posters that I have doctored for the current situation. It’s time to “roll up our sleeves” and aim for V-day: 70% of the population. You don’t have to go to war. You don’t have to go without tires or buy war bonds. You don’t even have to sacrifice. You just have to swing by the pharmacy on your way home from work, and we can finish getting things back to normal.
